Smiles Change Lives Support
Smiles Change Lives (SCL) is an international organization that provides underprivileged children with necessary orthodontic care they wouldn’t otherwise be able to receive. Approximately 750 orthodontists participate in the program and have helped over 6,000 children to-date with life-changing orthodontic treatment.
Did You Know?
An estimated 20% of American children are living with crooked teeth and misaligned jaws simply because their parents cannot afford orthodontic care. Many of these children live with pain from broken or impacted teeth, as well as the social and emotional effects that go along with untreated dental issues.
How the Program Works
To qualify for orthodontic care through the SCL program, the following criteria must be met:
- Youth between the ages of 10-18
- Have no more than four baby teeth and no unfilled cavities
- Have good dental hygiene
- Not currently undergoing orthodontic treatment
- Meet the SCL financial guidelines
- Are willing and able to follow the SCL program rules and make the required financial contribution
